A Night in My Life at Canada Post

1

Clocking In at Night

The shift starts when most are heading to bed. I arrive at the depot, punch in, and gear up for a full night of work.
2

Sorting and Loading

Hours of organizing mail and parcels, loading trucks with precision and speed. The rhythm becomes almost meditative.
3

The 3am Stretch

The quietest part of the night. The depot is calm, the work is steady, and I’m in the zone, deep focus, quiet focus.
4

Driving Home as the Sun Rises

My shift ends as the world wakes up. I drive home watching the sky light up, knowing my work is done.
5

Sleeping Through the Day

While the world goes about its business, I rest and recover. Sleep when others work, that’s the night shift life.

OUR STORY

Questions We Hear

The first winter was a shock, but we learned quickly. Proper layering, good boots, and understanding seasonal routines made all the difference. Now we actually appreciate the crisp air and snow.
Not for a second. We came for opportunity and found community, stability, and a chance to build something meaningful for our family. The sacrifices were worth it.
It takes discipline and planning. We keep a consistent sleep schedule, stay active during the day, and make sure our family adapts together. Support from loved ones is everything.
Absolutely. Language keeps our culture alive. Our kids are growing up bilingual, hearing Bisaya at home and English at school. It’s how we stay connected to where we’re from.
Be patient with yourself. Building a new life takes time. Stay connected to your roots, invest in your education and skills, seek out community, and remember why you made the move. You’re stronger than you think.
